What a better way to deal with the overall stress and reconnect with your body, than by dancing.
Dance Culture is born out of the necessity to express ourselves through movement, letting go all worrisome and/or sorrow that might be entering or inhabiting our lives. Body movement is such a great and natural way to release trapped emotions and/or ongoing uncomfortable feelings or tightness in our bodies and souls.
Gabriela Montiel.
The dance teacher, Gabriela Montiel is originally from Venezuela and has been dancing since she was 15 yrs. Latin moves are a natural part of our culture and I would love to share this magic vibe with all of you.
This coming class we will focus on Salsa Boogaloo! (often just called Latin boogaloo) is a lively music and dance style that blends Afro-Cuban rhythms with African-American influences like R&B, soul, and early funk. It emerged in 1960s New York City, especially among young Latino communities.
Known for its catchy, simple English-Spanish lyrics and upbeat, danceable rhythm, and often easier to follow than traditional salsa, since its a more flowy and slower pace.
So, the class will be pretty funky soul sister soul, vibe!
Come, bring and friend (or tell someone that might like it) and release all tensions and stress to liberate our souls dancing!
We will start at 5 PM with a warm-up, stretching our bodies and learning some simple moves that will repeat and vary throughout the class. This will be followed by a routine that involves basic salsa moves, funky vibes, and Latin jazz. The class will be simple and individual, similar to an aerobics class. We may also practice moving across the room in pairs. It will be fun and dynamic. It’s about enjoying the moment and letting the music move you.
Dress code: wear something comfortable: from dance attire, sweatpants, workout clothes to anything that allows you to stretch and move you body, while making you feel good. Sneakers, dance shoes or something comfortable to dance with.
This is an invitation to celebrate love, life and have fun!!
